Lost Pines Chapel
This interfaith chapel for the Boy Scouts of America sits contemplatively within the pine forest on Lake Bastrop's banks, featuring 22 identical cedar frames connected by steel plates and bundled by tension cables. The frames rotate incrementally to create an arcing plan, with narrowing members that allow the upper portions to sway freely in the wind, creating a fluid quality that mirrors the lake's movement and reinforces the building's interfaith purpose through its symbolic mutability.
