This Accessory Dwelling Unit was developed as an urban infill project at the corner of a lot along Shoal Creek. The house sits on a raised foundation wall that lifts the structure above the floodplain. A continuous corner porch cantilevers off this foundation, creating the impression that the entire house hovers above the landscape.

Restrictive street setbacks limited the buildable area on the property but permitted porches to extend beyond their boundaries. The conscious corner porch allowed us to create outdoor living space that effectively expands the modest first floor. On the second floor a spacious roof deck offers views overlooking the Shoal Creek greenbelt.
