temporary shade structure with retractable fabric panels

Temporary Tiger

As a rapid response to Covid-19 challenges, this outdoor classroom for Little Tiger Chinese Immersion School was designed and built in one week for under $6,000 using simple 2x4 stick framing with threaded pile anchors that leave no trace when removed. The A-frame structure features built-in benches, diagonal bracing for lateral stability and graphic appeal, and an east-facing wall that doubles as shade cloth support for morning classes, creating a popular play structure that encourages children to climb the walls when not in use.
